How Does it work?

In all of us there is energy, or life force, which flows through us through channels called chakras, and around us in what is called an aura. This energy is what keeps our cells and organs functioning. If the natural healthy flow of this life force is interrupted the function of an organ or organs as well as its tissues lessens. Our every thought and emotion effects this life force. It becomes disrupted when our thoughts and emotions turn negative as these thoughts and emotions cling to our life force energy. As a result the fuctions of all that we are made of lessens. Our energy fields functions are restored as Reiki flows to where it is most needed – flushing out the old energy with new energy and for all intents and purposes recalibrating the energy fields. This as a result is how Reiki facilitates healing.

What happens in a Reiki session?

A Reiki session is fully clothed with the exception of your shoes. You will lay on a soft massage table. Often the treatment begins with what is similar to a prayer before the treatment begins. During the treatment, just like a regular massage, you may experience various emotions, tears, laughter, etc. This is completely normal and nothing to be ashamed of. Also, it is quite normal to feel heat emanating from my hands during your treatment. This is a result of the energy flowing into and through you. After your treatment you may lay on the table for a few moments after if you wish. You may be thirsty afterwards so there will be bottled water on hand. I will discuss the treatment with you and give you an informative aftercare packet.

Will you give me attunements? I have read a lot of books on Reiki and I think i’m ready!

Sorry, but no. Attunements are given during classes where you receive instructions on how to properly use them. The only exception is reattunement to symbols you have already beeng attuned to during a class for which you have verified receiving certification for.
